NBOMe
NBOMe is a New/Novel Psychoactive Substance (NPS), designed to produce similar effects to more common illicit drugs, in this case psychedelics. NBOMe is a stimulant and hallucinogen and taking it can distort your sense of reality.
NBOMe is usually sold in tabs of blotting paper (similar to LSD) and is sometimes sold incorrectly as LSD (fake). It is taken by placing under the tongue or inside the cheek and sometimes it’s used nasally, injected as a solution and smoked as a powder.
OTHER NAMES:
It’s also known as N-Bomb, Solaris, smiles, 25-1, 2C-I-Nbome, pandora.
NBOMe is also often sold to users who think they are buying LSD.
FACTS TO KNOW:
- NBOMe is cheaper to produce and is often mis-sold as LSD so you may use it by mistake thinking you’ve used LSD.
- NBOMes are a very powerful psychedelic and it can take a lot longer to feel the effects compared to LSD, increasing risk of serious consequences such as overdose and death.
- NBOMe might cause visual hallucinations, changes in mood, confusion, nausea which can lead to unwanted and overwhelming feelings, paranoia, agitation and panic.
- There have been multiple deaths related to NBOMe use because it can be really hard to get the right dose and it’s easy to take too much.
DURATION:
The effects of NBOMe can last approximately 6-10 hours.
STAYING AS SAFE AS YOU CAN:
- You only need really small amounts of NBOMe to get the effects. It means that if you’ve had a bit and don’t feel anything, taking the same amount again might mean you suddenly get really strong effects.
- Avoid taking multiple tabs and avoid re-dosing, especially if unsure if taking real LSD or not.
- Avoid snorting NBOMe due to its potency, stick to tabs
- Use with others, share the experience with someone who has used before or with someone who is not using.
- Monitor your mental health and ensure it is stable before using
- Call an ambulance if you are worried about anything because overdose is a possibility.
This is only a little bit of information this Australian Drug Foundation’s factsheet has heaps more.
