Digital AOD tool update.
Have you checked out “Working it out with YoDAA” or recommended it to a young person yet? Minister Foley will be formally launching the tool in early March!
As feedback continues to filter in about how this tool is helping young people and those who support them, we are really excited to announce that the minister responsible for AOD service in Victoria, Minister Foley, will be formally launching the tool on the 5th March!
Although this event will mark the formal launch, the tool went live to very little fanfare late last year. You may be interested in some early feedback and some ideas about how the tool could help your work.
- The tool is proving especially popular with non-AOD specialists. Workers in varying roles who have very good existing relationships are completing the tool with young people and tell us the tool helpful in providing them with an idea of appropriate feedback and next steps.
- We have already heard from services where young people who have completed the tool have chosen to email the results to a worker so they can discuss what to do next.
- Since school went back, we’ve heard from school based workers who have been excited that they can provide young people they are concerned about with such a concrete option and that the young person can choose to engage with it with the worker or check it out privately.
We will keep you posted with more news as the use of “Working it out with YoDAA” becomes more widespread.
In the meantime contact us with news about how the tool is helping your support of young people.
