Where do young people turn to for help?
They may spend hours on the phone but a telephone helpline is one of the last places a young person would turn to if they needed support.
Only 10% of young people surveyed would use a phone helpline, as compared to 54.3% who would turn to the internet.
Not surprisingly, it is trusted friends and family who top the list of resources young people would turn to if they needed help with an important issue.
87.8 % of 15-19 year olds who participated in this years National Youth Survey stated they would turn to a friend for help with important issues in their lives.
Mission Australias 2014 Youth Survey is the largest annual study of its kind in Australia. It aims to unearth the hopes, dreams and fears of young Australians.
