Real vs synthetic cannabis
A report from the US suggests fewer young people are trying and using synthetic cannabis compared to real cannabis.
The report suggests young people are now more aware of the risks and dangers of synthetic cannabis.
This follows data from the 2012 Global drug survey which found that for people that had used both, 93% would choose real cannabis over synthetic cannabis. As with many new drugs that mimic well established and popular substances, it seems that popularity in new drugs tends to wain after an initial period of intense interest and use as users return to the drugs with the best balance of positive and negative effects.
