Your Privacy

A couple words about what happens with information you give to YoDAA.

At YoDAA we do our very best to protect your privacy. Nothing said (or written) can be passed on to anyone else without your permission, unless we are concerned about your safety or the safety of someone else and we need to exercise our duty of care. We’ll talk to you first if this happens.

  • We only gather and record enough information for the purposes of giving you the service you’ve asked for. YoDAA also uses the information we collect to make sure we can improve our service and make sure we are doing a good job so sometimes your info may be de-identified (so no one knows it is about you) and used for statistical purposes to evaluate our service.
  • We keep your information securely. YoDAA is auspiced (run and overseen) by YSAS, a health service, which means we comply with the laws and regulations that protect the security and use of your personal information.

There are some limits to what we can do though. Here’s some things you should know.

  • YoDAA has many workers providing a response and we all work as a team. This means the information you discuss with one worker is available to other YoDAA workers and is sometimes discussed within the team so the best advice can be given to you.
  • We want to highlight that if you are using our chat services, it’s important to know that online chat is generally less secure than email or telephone. We use chat for general advice and will encourage you to call or email us if you want to talk about really sensitive stuff.

If you would like more information about privacy, email us or contact the YSAS privacy officer
